Late Haji Gulzar (1937–1986) was a distinguished businessman, philanthropist and a man deeply committed to the welfare of the people around him. Having built his livelihood and business success through the Oil & Gas sector in Lalamusa, he earned not only financial success but also the trust and respect of the community in which he lived and worked.
For Haji Gulzar, success was never measured solely by what one could acquire, but by what one could give back. His values were rooted in hard work, integrity, compassion and a strong sense of social responsibility. He believed that prosperity carries with it a responsibility to contribute to the well-being of others.
Haji Gulzar Surgical Hospital was established in his memory as an expression of those enduring values. It is not merely a healthcare facility; it represents a family commitment to give back to the communities that have been part of its journey.

It is with a deep sense of responsibility and gratitude that I welcome you to Haji Gulzar Surgical Hospital.
This hospital represents something very personal to our family. It is a tribute to my grandfather, Late Haji Gulzar, whose life taught us that true success carries a responsibility to serve others. His journey as a businessman and philanthropist left behind values that continue to guide our family today.
Haji Gulzar Surgical Hospital was therefore conceived not simply as a commercial healthcare project, but as an endeavour to give back to the community. Our aim is to provide quality medical care with dignity, compassion and respect, particularly for those who may find healthcare difficult to afford.
Our community-service initiatives are an important part of this mission. From free medical camps and medicines to assistance for deserving patients, support for children with disabilities and welfare initiatives such as blood-related services, we seek to extend our role beyond the walls of the hospital.
We believe healthcare should be delivered with professional excellence and human compassion.
